We all mostly refer to our Higher Selves as the wiser, stronger and more resourceful imagery in our lives…

…but what if our inner child is equally powerful source of wisdom, with a different kind of strength? Why is it so rarely considered a guide? What if it knows a way into much deeper truth that we would expect?

What would would it take for us to acknowledge that innocence, carefree expression of youth and joy has something valuable to teach our Higher Selves, not in a way of seriousness and rising above, becoming that backbone of our reality or that which makes us seem reliable or responsible?

Rather, in a way of openness to Life, openness to creativity, basking in our sense of Joy and interpreting it as a more gentle guidance — that allows us to feel so clearly when we are on the right path? Who better than our inner child could possibly teach us what it really means to follow our bliss?

Alice in Wonderland, Disney

Adults so very often forget what Bliss feels like. They are way too concerned with this and that, are they not?

Your inner child is like the Alice in Wonderland drinking that downsizing potion, that enabled her to pass through the keyhole to a magical garden. What if our heads are too big to pass through the Keyhole?

What if the magical garden, is for the curious and the playful and the brave?

Our inner child has a sense of fearlessness that enables us to explore the unknown rather than fear it. All the more so, it has a sense of wonder that it wouldn’t know monsters of any kind, should the adults withhold from installing fearful associations with the way things or creatures seem.

The only reason child fears is because it is taught into it it, guided into it, by adults who have long lost their innocence, in the same way children are taught to be afraid of people from different cultures or races.

Alice in wonderland, Disney

In this sense, our inner child maybe our only hope for restoration of overall health in our collective.

Childlike sense of wonder will allow us all to make peace with our differences and perhaps even make way for appreciation.
